Saving Green Space Is Hot Topic in Boca

At the forum this week for the election of 2 commissioners at the Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District  (GBRBPD) there was complete agreement that more green space needs to be preserved in the city.   There was standing room only attendance by interested residents for an election that normally goes unnoticed in the primary election season for much bigger party affiliated candidates.  For some challengers in this election it appears that they are seeking a stepping stone to build their political resume and there are the rather unusual support of 2 challengers by fire fighter unions from outside the Boca Raton area.

These factors are combined with the fact that NONE of the challengers have attended a full meeting of the district even though there have been several meetings since they filed as candidates leaves the clear choice for these 2 positions as the incumbents Dennis Frisch & Earl Starkoff.

Interested residents of the Boca Raton area may also want to follow the news updates on the community for the Boca Watch group and the more localized area of Boca Teeca at bocateecaresidents.blogspot.com

Thank you for supporting this suddenly hot topic after the city's apartment development binge has resulted in the approval of enough housing units to soon put the population of the city over 100,000!
