Thank You Sallie Friedman

At last week's Town Hall meeting held in the city council chambers, Boca Teeca resident Sallie Friedman spoke out regarding her concerns of increased traffic in Boca Teeca if Costco is allowed to add a gasoline station to their property. Traffic was consistently a major concern of Boca Teeca residents during the past 20+ years. Traffic was also a primary concern during the 2006 meetings held by representatives of the Ocean Breeze golf course who proposed a "forced left turn" onto Westbound Jeffrey St. in order to keep traffic from the proposed 211 townhouses off of NW 2nd Ave.

These representations were made by the developers during the numerous meetings with residents in order to sell the residents on the proposed development. During the presentations at the public hearings there were no suggestions of a "forced left turn" and the city approved an amendment to the traffic level of service within Boca Teeca so that this road could be allowed to handle the increased traffic from the new development.

Sallie Friedman was one of the few residents of Boca Teeca that spoke at the public hearings in support of the development which was increasing traffic within this residential community. Here are two questions regarding her traffic concerns in Boca Teeca:
1)Did she support the development's traffic impact as a result of the promised payment of approx. $25,000 to her condo association?
2)Would she change her opinion of the Costco proposal if they agreed to pay her condo assoc.?

  1. Show Her The Money!...and she will support anything--regardless of public safety of her neighbors

  2. Sallie & Shirley were the condo commados responsible for the terrible development that was supposed to save Boca Teeca, but the developer played them like a fiddle.

  3. Sallie is not helping anyone in Boca Teeca with her boastful attitude and irresponsible support of the country club owners

  4. Nobody in Boca Teeca listens to Sallie and her few friends who are looking for a freebie from Taback

  5. Boca Teeca condo leaders were fools to believe they would ever see a penny from the developer

  6. Misguided condo leaders believed the developer and were too naive in the whole process. Keep the golf course as is & force a sell to a golf course operator.

  7. Bait & Switch used on condo neighbors regarding the traffic issue. The forced left turn to keep out traffic was answer by developer to sell deed modification & then dropped after deed approval obtained.

  8. Sallie worked to save the view of most residents so get off her case. She was outwitted and doesn't need to be reminded by disgruntled neighbors.

  9. Sallie was looking for a free lunch with the developer, that is, save her view and get paid. There is No Free Lunch when dealing with developers.

  10. Teeca condo owners blindly supported their assoc. leaders as long as it did not impact them.

  11. Give'm free food and promises that sound too good to be true and some residents will sign almost anything as long as they are not impacted. If it is too good to be true, then it probably is not true.

  12. Were elderly senior citizens fraudulently misled with a bait & switch by the developer? What happened to the "foreced left turn" onto westbound Clint Moore Rd. that the developers promised in meetings with condo residents?

  13. Widen NW 2nd Ave. to 4 lanes to stop the congestion. This is a public road, NOT owned by the senior citizens in Boca Teeca.

  14. Sallie is trying to lookout for her neighbors and traffic is a major concern for the senior citizens in Boca Teeca.

  15. The development opens the door for the widening of NW 2nd Ave. to 4-lanes. Thank you Sallie for supporting increased traffic in our residential community.

  16. Where is the security in Boca Teeca that the developer promised when he was getting signatures for the amendment to the deed restriction? Why aren't the condo leaders holding their foot on the developer's neck to force this promised security?

  17. Where is the promised security from the developer that owns the golf course?

  18. Yers, where is the promised security from the developer? I have received several crime incident reports within the past several months in the Boca Teeca community. Just another broken promise after they got naive residents to sign away their restriction rights.
